Concert: Billy Joel and Elton John - Face to Face 2003

Seats: Sec 207, row 13, seats 17-18

Damn, now that’s a good concert. This is the last stop on the current tour, and boy was it a good one. Bill was just on, his voice was as strong as I’ve ever heard it in my limited concert experience, and he was absolutely bouncing around the stage dancing and interacting with the crowd. Sadly, his songs were far to few, having to split time with Elton. When Bill took the stage solo the crowd really came alive after snoring through Elton’s set.

Our seats were good despite being behind the stage owing to the open stage design.

Bill just made Elton look like an old man. I don’t like his music to start with, and his singing is unintelligible live. The few Joel songs he joined in on he butchered vocally. I have to think there is something interesting about Elton since Bill is his friend - but I just don’t see it.
