Happy 2005 - Resolutions
January 1st, 2005Well 2004 certainly seemed to fly by. Reviewing my goals
from last year, I did ok. I did get healthier and lost weight
without resorting to any stupid fad diets. I took a 6 month
martial arts/self defense class in Okemos. Unfortunately, my most
important goal of getting a job remains unfulfilled, though I certainly
tried. So, not surprisingly, that will top my new list of 2005
goals:
- Get a J - O - B. The over-educated, out of work
blues are beginning to set in. I am now 7 months out of MBA
school, and I will soon have a job, even if that means McDonald’s or
delivering pizza. Though neither of those options is at the top
of my list. Complete! - Stay healthy. I succeeded in losing most of my
excess weight and generally getting more fit in 2004. Basically I
intend to lose a little more, probably till I’m at a consistent 180 or
so. But more importantly just keeping a regular exercise schedule. - Pursue a serious martial arts program. Or possibly
find some good self defense classes. First I have to pick one,
then commit to it long term. Its tough deciding, I don’t think
I’ll be going back to the place I started at in 2004, although their
offer of a 50% discount was tempting. I was leaning heavily
toward Aikido, but I’m not so sure now. It’s such a non-violent
form, and frankly, I’m kind of a violent person at times. - See more movies! And maybe go to a few film classes, or at
least read some related books. Who knows, could be fun.
Actually, got sort of a writers block on this whole topic right
now. I’ll have to think of some more later.
