Cut Off Again

October 31st, 2005

Why does some idiot cut me off every other day when I’m trying to make a left turn at the Okemos exit off I96?! There are TWO left turn lanes people, inside lane goes to inside, outside lane goes to outside, how hard is that to figure out? Fortunately I have sort of a 6th sense about bad drivers, even before they do something stupid I can just sense their presence. That’s the only thing that has saved me on at least 3 occasions when I saw the car coming and managed to brake and dodge them before getting sideswiped. The time has finally come for the hood mounted machine gun.

Back on the exercise wagon

October 30th, 2005

I’ve been extremely lazy these past two weeks. All summer I’ve been very consistent exercising nearly every day. I’ve lost so much weight none of my pants fit right anymore. But for a variety of reasons, I have been unable to stick to it recently. But the weather has been awesome this weekend (for the last weekend in October anyway) with clear skies, low winds, and moderate temps. So yesterday I went with Joel and played some tennis. Neither of us played very well, but it was still fun. The Okemos HS courts are normally some of the best in the area, but they are looking a little ragged lately, what gives?

Continued again today. Started with a ride on the mountain bike first on the trails behind the Meridian PD, and then to Jolly and back on Dobie, probably about 15 miles total. Came home, lifted some dumbbells, did a few situps and pushups and stretched. Still had some energy and it was so nice decided to run over to the HS track and run a few laps, ended up doing just 1 miles worth so it was about a 2 mile run total including the trip there and back. I managed to listen to my back episodes of the Dick Purtan show that Mark has been recording and emailing to me, so that worked out nicely.

So now just hanging out with Sarah at work, another late night.

Halloween Party!

October 29th, 2005

Emily and Sarah threw a fun costume party for all the lab geeks. I again wore my Neo costume Sarah made for me last year, I still think it looks sweet. I can’t find my authentic shades though, made me mad. She made one for herself this year, an episode four Princess Leia costume, complete with cinnabon hair and semi-authentic blaster. We had fun making some party foods: candy corn jello shots, popcorn balls, and these super pretzels that looked like fingers complete with red finger nails, among other things. Tasty.

First Post

Ok, I know the personal journal type blog is trite beyond description, but you know what, I just feel like doing it right now, so I will. I don’t want to clutter up my movie site with this kind of stuff, and I need something on my main page, plus Blogger is just easy to use.
