Amazon Finally Selling DRM-Free Music

September 26th, 2007

Still haven’t looked into it much yet, but it sounds good so far.

http://www.amazon.com/

It appears songs are encoded at 256k and priced from $.89 a track or as low as $5.99 per album.  It has taken forever for a major US retailer to offer unrestricted music files for download, and I for one plan to send them plenty of business.

New seat

September 13th, 2007

Just installed a new saddle on the road bike. It came with the original Bontrager model circa 1994 which was quite comfy for short rides but got a bit troublesome on longer distances. The Bontrager was designed long before the modern crop featuring anatomical shaping. The new seat is a Forte Pro SLX on deep discount from Performance, and at only 209 grams I could feel a serious weight saving over the old saddle. Holding one in each hand the Bontrager felt like a brick. The Forte is pretty aggressive looking, and has titanium support rails - sweet!
