Just got back from our 7-day cruise on Princess  through the western Carribean.  Stops were Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Bahamas.  On Grand Cayman went on a kayak and snorkel excursion to a reef and shipwreck.  Cozumel took the ferry to the mainland and toured the Mayan ruins at Tulum.

The weather was pretty good with mostly sunny and 80-85 degrees most days, one day of rain but we were at sea so didn’t matter too much.  It was a major break from the freezing weather in Michigan.

Another action packed weekend. Took the day off Friday and met up with a guy who finally bought my Cobalt. I attempted to ride the CATA bus to MSU from Lansing Mall which should have been a simple, single transfer process. However the real schedule did not agree to the online schedule I planned on, delaying me about an hour at the downtown depot before I found an alternate.

Sarah was defending her dissertation that morning and I was trying to make it for the celebration afterward. I made it just in time for the last of the tasty champagne and appetizers Dr. Conrad brought. Suffice it to say, Sarah did fine and has completed the last of her program requirements. The big surprise of the weekend was a surprise visit by Shibani who flew in from Seattle Thursday night!

Grabbed some ice cream at the MSU Dairy Store. Dinner at the new Irish style pub in downtown EL called Dublin Square which is very nice inside and has some awesome happy hour specials Friday night on both drinks and dinner. Tickets to the Trans Siberian Orchestra at Breslin…I won’t comment on that further.

Saturday Sarah, Shibani and Emily spent the whole day together. I cooked up some breakfast for everyone and they did some present exchanging. Later had dinner at Pizza House before heading over to the Warren Miller movie at the EL High School. Got some sweet skiing coupons but sadly didn’t win any swag or raffles.

Sunday down to Warren for an early Christmas gathering. Dinner at the excellent Villa Penna’s with the brothers. We were also celebrating Steve’s birthday, belated Dave birthday, and sort of early Sarah birthday.
